MapsDirect provides a series of ready to use interactive mapping applications, incorporating organisations own operational data combined with web-licensed background mapping. These are transparently delivered through your existing web site enabling local authorities to provide personalised or specific location-based information.

The MapsDirect framework offers almost unlimited potential for the on-line services and information that can be delivered. The following applications are already available and will be followed in the future by other e-Government solutions centred around Internet, mobile and WAP-enabled technology:

• Location mapping – zoom to postcode, the base service.
• Custom Data - The ability to have your authority’s own custom datasets embedded into the application.

• Update of operational data at an agreed frequency according to the volatility of the information.
• Licensing for use on the Internet of Ordnance Survey mapping data that is required by the applications and which are not covered by existing service level or other agreements.
• Hosting of the application on a remote server and integration into an organisation’s existing website.
