Data Sets

‘Navstreets’ product includes street level vector data with address ranges, DRI (drive restriction information - one ways, turns etc). Also includes a number of base layers such as administration boundaries, land use, points of interest, railways, rivers etc Full unit postcode references linked to street geometry is now also available for GB.

The Navstreets product range is split into 3 main levels of vector data called ‘Navstreets’ these are ‘Base’ ‘Standard’ and ‘Premium’. The levels reflect the detail of the content and attribution.

Data products available at 3 levels. Base, Standard and Premium. These include:

Base Level: Vector geometry + names + cartography

Standard Level: Vector geometry + names + cartography + address ranges + points of interest (POI)

Premium Level: Vector geometry + names + cartography + address ranges + points of interest (POI) + navigational attributes.

Licensing

Licensing is provided in a number of usage models. These are: GIS application use, Mobile asset management end-user, Mobile asset management ASP, Geomarketing end-user, Geomarketing ASP, Geocoding, Limited mapping / Routing Internet application, Public Organization interest application, call canter application and Geocoding.

Licencing can be annual, perpetual or subscription. Each has an update option which reflects the price.

Data Set offering

Tele Atlas Multinet is outstanding vector database carrying highly detailed information on the roads of an entire country. The Street Network includes house number ranges in many cities and urban areas. The street and road data provides complete traffic information, including restrictions and blocked passages, indications of toll roads and ferry connections, TMC information and signposts. Multinet also has two classifications of the road network specially tuned for navigation and optimal route calculation. Administrative areas from national to local level are identified as well as postcodes for many countries. A full categorization of land use indicates the presence of industrial areas, woodland, parks, heaths and moors. There are comprehensive categories of Point of Interest including airports, railways, petrol filling stations, car parks, restaurants and hotels as well as many landmarks.

The Multinet product can be purchased by a number of different layers such as with or without drive restriction information, address ranges etc

Features and Benefits

In the UK Tele Atlas receives data updates from Ordnance Survey every 6 months provide the latest and most accurate information on the Street Network. Unique Tele Atlas Mobile Mapping vans (for specialised data collection) are also constantly travelling through Europe, recording key changes to the road network. Up-to-date data means the best routes are selected, achieving shortest drive times to destinations and less time wasted.

Road classification based on drivability – Tele Atlas road classification system is based on the drivability of roads, not just its designation. The official road classification system used throughout the UK does not take account of variations in road width which may impede large vehicles. Tele Atlas’ unique road classification system has been specifically designed for efficient selection of route for different sizes of vehicle

Points of Interest and Petrol Stations – Tele Atlas also supplies it customers with millions of Points of Interest (POI’s) throughout Europe (Points of Interest are location referenced features such as railway stations, business or retail addresses, hotels and building of public interest. Tele Atlas can also supply the most up to date detailed database of petrol filling stations and motorway services.

Detailed postcodes and house number ranges - The UK street level data is further enhanced by detailed 7 digit postcodes allowing easy inputting of destinations and 100% coverage of house number ranges.

Small scale data

MiniScale – 1:1,000,000 raster data
Ordnance Survey’s MiniScale is a small-scale product, designed for use within desktop graphic applications to provide simple backdrop mapping covering the whole of Great Britain. MiniScale is created using desktop graphic software so it can be customised and converted into any graphic format, without the need for a complex geographical information system (GIS).

1:250 000 Scale Colour Raster map base combines roads, railways and other key features to make this the ideal cartographic backdrop for overlaying business information. This small-scale product gives an excellent overview of the country, and is available by tile or nationally (within the minimum order amount)

Strategi – 1:250,000 vector data
Strategi is detailed digital map data, ideal for applications requiring an overview of geographical information on England, Scotland and Wales. It is derived from the Ordnance Survey 1:250 000 scale topographic database and provides mapping for applications requiring a regional overview.

Geographical features within Strategi are represented as vector (point and line) data, enabling you to link your business information to relevant features on the map for planning purposes, analyse trends or create simplified routing information.

Mid-Scale data

1:50 000 Scale Colour Raster is Ordnance Survey’s definitive raster product, providing a complete digital view of the popular Landranger^® paper map series. It comprises 812 tiles, each 20 km by 20 km, and offers clear detail on roads, footpaths, woods, water features, important buildings and height contours. All topographic features are joined across sheet edges, providing seamless coverage of the entire country.

It provides a comprehensive map base ideal for detailed work where street names are not required, such as environmental analysis.

Meridian^TM 2 – 1:50,000 vector data
Meridian^TM 2 is a mid-scale digital representation of Great Britain that allows considerable customisation of its transport network and topographic themes, which means that the user can create functional geographic solutions for their business needs.

All of the geographical features are extracted from existing Ordnance Survey databases and are fully maintained in order to deliver an annual product update. When used in conjunction with users own compatible data the resulting application is a truly useful GIS asset.

The product is typically viewed at 1:50,000 and at this scale the generalisation of its features maintain geometric integrity and accuracy.

1:25,000 Colour raster
One of a range of backdrop mapping products, Ordnance Survey's 1:25 000 Scale Colour Raster is backdrop map data of the popular OS Explorer Map hard copy ma[ series for outdoor activities. The digital data provides:

Provides a static map backdrop on which you can overlay information.
Shows rights of way information for England and Wales, selected cycle routes and National Trail and Recreational Path routes.
Provides detail, including hill contours, height information and field boundaries

Large scale data

StreetView 1:10,000 colour raster data
Ordnance Survey's OS Street View is street-level, backdrop map data that is specifically designed for online applications, as it can be downloaded quickly from both the Internet and Intranet.

High-resolution raster backdrop map data:

Shows clear street-level detail, including building outlines, woodland and water on a static map backdrop.
Supplied in low volume data tiles for fast download from the Internet or your Intranet.
Includes a colour palette that can be customised to enhance or hide features.

BoundaryLine Administration Boundaries for GB – 1:10,000
Boundary-Line is a specialist dataset of voting and administrative boundaries. The information is represented as vector digital data. It provides a full hierarchy of boundaries, from district, wards and civil parishes (or communities) up to parliamentary, assembly and European constituencies
